Hello & Welcome
Hi there,
This blog had been on the cards for quite some time, but the last 3 months were so hectic (and exciting) that I just couldn’t make time for it. But now, I am glad to launch my blog - “Internet Marketing - My Way”.
The purpose of this blog is to share with you ideas, tips and techniques on different aspects of Internet Marketing. As a full time Internet Marketer for over 4 years, I have learnt a lot in this vast and interesting field. And I want to use this blog to share my knowledge and experience with you.
There’s a small problem though and I need you to help me through it. You see, I don’t know where to start. I want to write about the hidden tricks & techniques, the gaps and loopholes in the Internet Marketing industry and my favorite topics, Viral Marketing and List Building. There’s a lot to write about, but I have no clue where to begin.
So please use the comments section of this post and let me know what areas in Internet Marketing interests you the most - Affiliate Marketing, PPC, SEO, List Building, Traffic Generation, whatever. Are there any specific topics that you are unable to learn through other blogs and content sites? What are the most pressing issues?
Your comments will help me create a meaningful blog - so please help me out. Once I have some inputs, I will set the ball rolling!
Thanks,
Alok

Hi Alok,
Thanks for inviting me to your blog. I have only just started my blog up after you got me started into this affiliate marketing business. You can find my blog at http://www.affiliatemarketforce.blogspot.com.
As to where to start; it is a question of separating the different marketing strategies to achieve web site traffic and ultimately referrals. The big question is which is the best strategy? This would be my best advice on where to start.

Hi Alok,
How about beginning by telling us a bit about yourself and your IM career to date?
A general outline of what works for you, and what doesn’t, would give your readers the opportunity to ask questions and give you subject ideas for ‘digging deeper’ into.
All the best,
Steph.

As a newbie to IM, I heartily agree - there is a lot to learn. I’ve been reading up for the last 3 weeks. In theory, its pretty simple, in practice though that’s where the problems come up.
For example, making a website is no problem I’ve been doing and teaching that for around 8yrs. But how to setup up for IM? Mini-site per product or one larger site for the niche? And what about autoresponders and the web-forms for building the list? This is the main area that I’m having trouble with.

Hiya Alok,
Good luck with the blog and happy posting!
From the sounds of things, it’s probably best to start right from the beginning! What is Affiliate Marketing - how do you get started - assume nothing, and explain it as though you were talking to a newbie -start with the simple and build up to the more complex issues. Make sure you put a lot of personal experiences in it to keep it interesting. Well, that’s my recommendation
Sincerely,
Mark Krusch

Hello Alok,
Thanks for the invite to your blog. Being relatively new to the whole Internet Marketing thing, and all it’s ups, downs, and “loop holes”. I think a general synopsis on the whole thing would give better insight into the whole of Internet Marketing. Although since it seems I am getting more into Affiliate programs would love to hear about that, so I can start heading in the right direction with that. Also where to being Traffic Generation is another target article I would be looking forward to.
Thanks again,

Targeted PPC or Targeted email vs bulk email or surf hits? All this in addition to building the LIST or buy the LIST? What are the stats if the product is good?

Do you think it will quickly lose its effectiveness given the incredible amount of junk articles out there written by poor writers, writers with no interest in giving real value and also machine generated junk?
I’d like to think Google and the dirctories will always value quality articles because it’s our single best bet as marketers to make a dent online.

Hello Alok,
Nice to be here
How about a step by step method to help people start their internet business from scratch? possibly starting with affiliate marketing then branching out to lists and creating your own products and so on - until by following your examples people could actually have earned some cash, learned some ‘real’ methods and then they can build the confidence to do it all, but better?
Other people will probably jump in with their own twist or fix on certain aspects and possibly you could build something here that would be like shining light amongst all the cr*p that’s out there
good luck,

Hi Alok
Addendum.
Be wary of free blog providers like blogger.com.
Not all are as bad, just look them up in forums before investing any time.
I was earning $5 a day via adsense, and blogger.com closed the blog without warning and without explanation.
If google adsense management were happy, what made them close me down?
Thats when I started http://www.bloghostingpro.com I have never looked back.
If anyone doesnt want to go my site route, but want to get a free blog, email me at blog [@]listbizz.com remove the brackets of course and I will give you a small list of free blog providers that have had my test blogs on for a year or more with no problems

Hi and thanks for this blog.
Interested in blogging and affiliate marketing BUT without list building.
Just simple steps to take to earn with blogging and affiliate marketing with articles but with free ways. Cause I know alot of people don’t have the money to spend in advertising. I am for one — PPC can be frustrating and traffic exchanges take time.
I think blogging and article marketing is the most affordable way to go and easiest to understand. Of course if will take time to make money but in the long run ti will be a constant income. Am I almost right?
Thanks again.

Hi Alok,
There are a number of issues that starter internet marketers seem to struggle with. I believe that the biggest problem is in traffic generation, whether by SEO, PPC, article marketing, etc. The next problem that I and others have is in choosing a niche that is going to be profitable and able to be milked. The third thing that 99% of people struggle with is taking action and getting started.
My suggestion would be to start at the beginning - deciding to take action and strategies to accomplish this. Next, move on to deciding on your niche or product, setting it up and website building, or choosing what products to affiliate with, etc. Finally, how to market, get traffic to your site/s, sell to visitors, capture their name and email address, etc.
I hope this helps you and others.
Kind regards,
Barry

Hi Alok,
Internet could be pretty unreliable. One day your PPC campaign works, another doesn’t - but you haven’t change any parametres. It will be good to answer to internet public what is that essential element missing in the equation of making money on Internet? It seems that essence of successful sales lay beyond normal logic - sometimes your ad get response - at other times the same ad doesn’t.. So if it lays beyond, why we get busy promoting endless books that speculate on “here” not on “beyond”? We certainly could make money flow in various directions on Net - on its own - without writing or propping of literary propaganda (!?)

Hi Alok
This is a rather good idea but I have to say there is so much stuff out there that I get dizzy just thinking about it. You hear “the money’s in the list” over and over, but I think it is more basic than that. Most people new to internet marketing and those who have been trying to get started, just do NOT know where to start. People are afraid of spending money on advertising/adwords because they don’t know enough about it.
Talk of posting to blogs and forums is fine, but where are those forums. I pop into the Warrior Forum from time to time, but this is a comparatively new thing because I hadn’t heard of it until recently. Along these lines, I would whole-heartedly recommend a list of GOOD, FREE and TESTED resources for people to access and see what is going on. Encouragement may be needed so that people are not intimidated by the guys who know everything and for them to just to get on with it.
You might also consider your own forum so your readers do not feel so isolated - that’s definitely a morale killer!
Hope this helps to get you started (well you asked :D)

Just get out there and do it ! “If you do nothing, you become nothing.”
One of the biggest mistakes people make (when looking for an online business) is failure to take ownership. Failure to take ownership is usually driven by fear. Let’s face it… if you are joining a PROGRAM online, whose business is that… really? It’s not yours! You are simply working to make someone else wealthy. Does this means you should stop joining programs? Not at all… but you do need to change the way you promote them.

I find a lot of so-called guru’s miss the nuts and bolts of how to actually do the things they suggest.
For instance - list building. They say the money is in your list etc. but don’t say how to build one!
Where is the best place on a website to get people to opt-in? Do they have to enter details before you let them in?
Offer them freebies?
If you can give nitty-gritty info in basic terms you will have my attention for as long as you wish.

hi alok,
your blog may well be the thing that helps a lot of us newbies get the ball rolling and then again it may not. what i would like to see is someone to offer to put a few ads on the net for us and then we take it from there. call it lazy or whatever, all i know is i try tor un some ads and get zip back even after having allt he books you have written and about a half dozen otheres fromt eh day job killer to chia’s books. it sounds good on paper when you read it but when it comes to putting it into practice it is much harder. thousands of people after the same dollar and we all cannot be copywrite experts. so this is why i would be willing to work with someone and pay them to show me the correct way to write and ad or two and actually do it and get some income coming and then i can be versed enough to take it after that. as you can see from the url above, i have the standard website and it has brought nothing even though i have tried a bit to get people to it.
while on the subject what i would like to see is a totally complete package out there that is ready to go with everything you will need to start. i have ultimate wealth, and several other packages and they all start out ok and then all of a sudden you have to upgrade to this and that to get the best results and so on. why not sell a package with the top of the line everything to begin with so all one has to do is jump in and follow the instruction? sure it would cost more at the beginning but then again it will cost the same if i have to keep adding things to make it worthwhile. the package could include the best autoresponders, the best list makers and so on so all we would need to do is start and not worry about upgrading. but thena gain that is too easy and it is not to suppossed to be too easy? who knows maybe i am just lazy but i like to know what i need to do a job and i have seen no program that yet shows me step by step with ALL the needed items at one time in one place.
anyway i am sure your blog will be very helpfull to a lot but in the mean time i am still looking for someone that will give me a kick start and see a few bucks coming in and then take it from there. i do not have a lot of access to the Net from where i am so i need to be able toset soemthing up and be able to come back in 9 weeks and check it and see how i am doing.
thank you Alok, and have a good day

As with all things IM people seem so set on making it that they miss the biggest point in our experience … niches.
There are so many niches out there, but people seem to forget about them and what they are interested in to focus on the IM niche.
We think it would be great if you could cover all aspects of marketing online from a niche perspective so that people have a plan to follow, like we offer at http://www.theonlinereality.com

Hi Alok: Wow talk about a loaded question! I’ve read through the comments above me, just so I don’t “pete and repeat” those already covered. In all honesty I think Mark Krusch’s request mirrors mine. I’m new, not so new that I can’t type but new enough to question the amazingly different suggestions “newbies” are bombarded with. What about a start-to-profit look at IM, with inclusions on organizing and utilizing the plethora of information available. And when I say start, I mean right at the beginning, teach some of those skills lacking in many of the emails I read. Politeness, respect, spelling and, order-of-operations. Above all, teaching others not to assume all the answers are found in the words of someone so far
removed from “new” that they forget the basics.
All the best and I’m looking forward to your responses.

Hi Alok,
I can almost say that every comment stated above holds merit and if you can organize a simplistic plan from what has been said, then I for one am all ears.
As a “newbie” I find there are so many avenues to follow that I end up pretty discouraged with the results, especially the ones where you think, ahh, this is the one, only to find you need to upgrade to go to the next step. I for one have run out of money and still not earning. Lots of promises though!
Something honest and up front would be very refreshing.
Good luck with your blog

Hi Alok, and congratulations.
This sure is a large and complex subject, but a good starting point could be to simply identify and describe the various basic techniques of internet marketing (forums, blogs, email, ppc, etc) and then explain where, when and how each should be used.
I feel this would be a good lead in to the more complicated subjects of affiliate marketing, list building (versus list buying/renting) autoresponder follow-up, etc.
It probably wouldn’t hurt to also have regular ‘advanced tips’ for the ‘almost gurus’ to keep them interested while the rest of us catch up.
Also, most of us could probably benefit from some good quality advice on what to join and buy, and what not to (how to avoid the scams, and the deals that simply don’t work).

Hi Alok,
Thanks for the invite. I am trying to build income thru my blog http://www.onlineincomeseeker.blogspot.com . But I am not getting traffic for the site as I do not have a list. How do I build traffic for this site? Or I should try to change topics or start a more focussed blog rather than a general blog?
I read comments by others here and step white’s comment was good I think. Probably You can give an overall view like he said and then get on to specific questions.
I am very interested in seeing how your blog develops as this is the first biggie blog I am seeing from the start.

I would say that the LIST is the most important for online marketing. The bigger the list the more profits one can have and list building should be the first and the topmost priority for everybody.
And why a list is necessary…check it out here…

Hi Alok
This is a great place to start. I mean, you’ve started already by starting this blog.
I’m looking foreward to read and participate in this blog.
I’ve been puttering around quite a while with this internet marketing thingy, and believe me, nothing is easy! But, if I have to choose the most important thing it would be genarating traffic. You can’t sell a product (your own or an affiliate’s), build a list or do anything without people knowing about your site. It’s like trying to sell something in the middle of New York on the umpteenth floor of a derelict building. Nobody sees your product, nobody hears about it and nobody buys it. I know the so-called gurus always tell you “it’s in the list”, but how do you build a list if you never see another soul? Ah! Use pay-per-click traffic, the gurus tell you. To build a list on PPC will see you bankrupt bfore you made a dime. Believe me I know.
So, as far as I’m concerned, it all boils down to free/cheap traffic. But, again there’s a problem. It sounds easy to surf for traffic, but alas, it’s not worth much. Think about it. Have you ever subscribed to a list or bought while surfing for traffic? No? Well so does anybody else.
This issue is driving me nuts, and I really believe is the demise of many startup Internet Marketers.
So let’s help each other and all make it.
To our success.

Hi, Alok,
I am delighted that you are starting a blog! I am a newbie to IM who is reading and rereading to get my mine around all this. Your Two Minute Profits is very intriguing, but for a newbie, it is very intimidating to start with. I still don’t understand how you can do it WITHOUT your own web site. You say newbies need to read AdWordsMiracle, and that leads you to read ProjectX etc. and DayJobKiller, etc. There is just so much to learn!
I think the absolute newbie really needs to be able to do SOMETHING just to get started will succeed WITHOUT THE FREAKING LIST! The thought of having to have a huge list to send a newsletter to, and then how to manage it is just too much for some of us just getting started. It sounds like an 18 hr a day effort!
It does not matter if what we start with is not the latest and greatest way to jump your earnings from $100 a day to $1000. We need someone to give us step by step guidance in how to do affiliate marketing that will work to bring in the first $10/day!!! Success breeds success and enthusiasm. Without that first taste of success, many will give up. Your On Demand Profits looks like it might be a good first place to start.
What do you think is the very best first place to start that will generate success, even if it is a small amount per day? The first place to start should not require a website or list building, or writing articles. It just feels like too much for the beginner who has tons of other responsibilities.
Thanks!

Hi Alok,
I think you’re very sincere in trying to help us newbies in our venture on this Internet business. I really appreciate that and I’m thankful that you’ve invited me to make this comment.
As a neophyte in the Internet business, I am very interested in learning how to build a list, writing articles, and affiliate marketing. I’ve already spent a lot of money trying to make money, but to date I still haven’t made a penny.
Another aspect for your blog would be, for newbies, how to actually compose the different text contents of one’s website. At the moment, this is what is puzzling me the most: I don’t know what content to put on my homepage as far as the following are concerned:
Title; Heading, Description, Preview, Products
Features, Conclusion
I’d like to see an actual example of each of the above sections of the homepage text.
If you can put this information on your blog, I think your readers will really appreciate it.
Good luck,

Looks like you have lots of logs in this fireplace! Perhaps you might consider tackling this from the point of view of a teacher who develops a curriculum. Start with the most basic item (the person who just bought the computer and wants it to start generating cash) and build up from that point. This person needs an email address and an ISP. What next? That computer has to be paid off - fast. We need the fast and, quite simply, the easiest way to generate some cash fast without going the auction route!
That would be the basis of building your blog. It would bring in a few people to start and more as you build each element upon the one before.

Maybe it would be good to start with an overview of the different aspects of Internet marketing and then break each one down in the following weeks. Possibly starting with how to get started on the internet, where to find the best affiliate programs, creating products, how to build a list, autoresponders, and etc. There is so much to learn but there is no definitive site to walk everyone through all the steps. You could be that site!!!

All they have to do is register which is free. They can have websites there, as many as they would like, plus lots more. This site was started by Brad Fallon, and everyone knows what a great success he is.
I think if you could teach something about FreeIQ it would help many, many people.

Hello Alok,
For beginners, like me, it is frustrating when long time IM’ers use terms that
are meaningless for us. Their knowledge goes bone deep and they assume that we will understand what is intuitively obvious to them. Not So!
How can one learn to put on a jacket if one has never seen a jacket, has no
clue as to what a sleeve is, or a collar. Buttons and buttonholes? Fahgeddabadit…
Some basic terms, perhaps in glossary form would be helpful to many newbies.
I’m using my blog at blogspot to hone my word-crafting skills. My guess is no-one is looking at it yet so I can go a little crazy. lol
Thanks for the heads-up about your blog.

Here is a question, which if you answer, will probably address a lot of the questions people have. Bear in mind htat often when peoplke recite thier tale of success the ‘world’ was different and hte information - whilst informative - is outdated. So, Alok, my question is this:
“If you were stripped of all your money with hte exception of $50, what would you do right now to get your business going? What techniques would you use? What resources would you employ?”
It may even make an interesting experiment……………..

Hi Alok,
The thing is, ALL of those things interest me. But only as long as it’s information coming from someone who REALLY has been successful. Not someone who is writing about these things as a way to get traffic and build a list and build SEO, etc.
You seem to be one of those people. We ALL want to learn REAL ways to work on each of these topics, and more. I would say most of the people here have at least some idea how to make money online, it’s actually getting the customers, and then getting those customers to buy from them is the problem…or at least that’s been my biggest hurdle. And building that list, which comes from building traffic, which comes from SEO, which comes from learning how to build a site, which comes from learning the very basics.
I would love true insight as to knowledge of what really works, what really doesn’t, and NOT what is really just a ploy to get everyone to buy something. There is WAYYYY too much of that already out there.
Thanks, and appreciate your caring and giving.

What would be of value to me personally is what is the best way to get my adsense ads (that google displays on my site) to show ads that relate to my

Alok,
Pretty certain I’ll be in the minority here, but I’d be much more interested in what you perceive as _gaps_, _loopholes_, & _hidden tricks (?)_.
There’s so much now on list building and viral marketing - a veritable glut of information - that adding to that mountain would seem to be of little use. Both those areas tend to be somewhat unique, in that most everyone has a different *one way* to accomplish their ends.
Much more useful, methinks, would be the gaps a newbie might fall through, _hidden_ bits that could enhance any other current effort. Show us the little pieces that can make our list building or viral marketing a disaster or a roaring success. Show us the little pieces that can make the difference between a 1.5% conversion and a 3% conversion.
Show us the little things that become major contributions to our successes.
That would be a nice brand to have, ya know?
Make a good day …

Hi Alok, thanks for the invite.
I know there are no “secrets” to online marketing or affiliate type programs, however, we do know that there are CERTAIN techniques that are used and NOT taught to newbies alike that separate those who earn money and those who scrape enough to get by.
Traffic Generation and List Building are the most important aspects of Affiliate Marketing (IMO) so any tips or suggestions (that are not refurbished) to help newbies with that would be greatly appreciated and would definitely increase your list of loyal readers.
Newbies aren’t afraid to spend money - its wasting their money on bogus programs that is stopping them from succeeding. Any tips you may have on what programs actually are WORTH the money and which programs to AVOID would be beneficial to all those involved (and if you can make some money doing it - why not?)
People have to understand there IS enough business on the internet to go around - we just have to learn how to do it without digging ourselves into the hole of debt.

I think the two things that frustrate us website owners are traffic generation– the traffic exchange thing barely works– and list building. They say, build your list, the money’s in the list, but I’ve tried all sorts of enticements, and they don’t leave their details. Arrgh.

Hi Alok,
Judging by the majority of responses it seems to me that even with all the info products, software, and free advice on internet marketing, no one has actually been able to give people a TRUE blueprint to get started.
There is a lot of conflicting advice out there that confuses the heck out of newbies. I always get the impression that a lot of information is being left out. As the previous poster Clive states, “In theory, its pretty simple, in practice though that’s where the problems come up.”
If you’d like to make this blog and your business better than all the rest, I suggest giving very complete directions on how to make some short term profits that work. (And by complete I do not mean step by step directions on how to open an adwords acccount.) If you can help others produce real results, no matter how small(because many are still stuck at 0), they will gladly line up to hear your plan for long term profits.

Hi Alok
I think you should perhaps have two postings, one for newbie’s and one for people who are on their way but just need some more help to get over the brickwalls they hit .That way when the newbie’s have got up to the standard of your second blog they can go straight on to what you have already posted. By doing this you should keep everyone happy with less work for yourself as you will not have to repeat yourself.
Good luck

Hi, Alok!
The blog looks good! I think a streamline, step by step approach explaining internet marketing tactics is badly needed. If you can start with the most important step first and then work through topics in order of priority for success, this would greatly help everyone. Keep it simple, explaining terminology, and don’t get sidetracked explaining the myriad of new products and systems that bombard us daily. Cover the basic step by step processes that lead to success, and when people get the hang of a successful system, you can then cover other topics. This approach should give you plenty of fuel for at least a month!
To EVERYONE’S success!

I’m also getting ready to start some PPC campaigns. This is a first time thing and I do know something about it, but it would be good to hear from someone that has more experience with internet marketing.

What I would like to know is how to handle all the swindlers out there who promise you hefty gains, back it up with an unconditional guarantees and then disappear when you learn their product is not worth taking up space on the internet. Getting your money back is a tedious task and the worst is it is so time consuming. Suddenly, they do not know you, and will not reply to cancellation requests. How to discover them before they walk and become invisible with your money?

Alok,
Thanks for allowing me to put forward my thoughts on where best to start with your blog. It has taken me nearly two years to tune in to the fact that along with onpage optimization, a link building strategy is critical to online success. High placement in the search results on sought-after terms means highly targeted traffic and the sales that go with that.
Through my work from home blog, http://www.work-from-home.nzmkr.com I provide an introduction to these important concepts which are further discussed in the Million Dollar Blueprint program.
First and foremost though I suggest you begin with goal setting; how can you get to where you want to go, without a plan in place? Then lead on to a site/blog creation program applying the stratgies above. The silo model is admirably suited to this means.
Trusting this is of some help … and best of luck…

I think one of the hardest things for most newbies to do is GET ORGANIZED.
I’ve written several articles on this and I’ve been online for over 15 years and I even have problems juggling all the different programs that come my way. I could set up a page with links to every tool I use and never get done.
It’s like women’s work, it’s never done, no matter how long you do it.
We need an easy way to organize all our tools and tips and get the ball rolling to success. But it’s hard for most newbies to learn to do all the tasks related to this in a concerted effort.

Hi Alok,
My wife and I currently own a tour and transportation business which is doing very well in N.W. Wyoming (Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks). However, neither one of us is getting any younger so I am very interested in IM. Something that I can do from “home”. We are contemplating a two or three month “hiatus” during the dead of winter, and the farther away from people the better, as long as we have high speed internet
!
My point with all of this is that I would like to generate several income streams with a website other than our tour website (www.ygtcustomparktours.com) . This would allow us to take those two or three months off during the dead of Wyoming’s winter.
How would you recommend starting? Should we concentrate on the blogging first, a website, creating a digital product for sale, what would you recommend first? Affiliate Marketing, Traffic Generation, PPC, it’s hard for a “newbie” to know where to start. Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and good luck with your Blog!

Hi Alok,
many have already stressed the point about list-building, and I most certainly agree. The problem is, no-one really tells us how to go about it. The plain truth is, to build a list you need traffic! I for one am damn sick of so-called “list-building” programs that promise the earth, and when you sign up you are told “now all you have to do is promote this url”!!!!
I can build a lead capture page, no problem, but getting it in front of the masses is another thing. Any tips on that would be most appreciated, especially for niches outside the IM arena.
Cheers from Downunder,
Phil.

Nothing comes for Nothing - Turn a buck to increase it. List building
is a priority. To increase clients is to advertise and it cost. Free advertising is
a myth. Hardwork and dedication and bucks is the only way to increase your customer base. Yea, sometimes a clever scheme might work and you
gain some. Remember schemes also costs! Market manupulation is one of
the oldest tricks and borders close to dishonesty. Some marketers are constantly manupulating the system, so be on the look out. Build your downline is what most shout out loud, send an e-mail with our autoresponder, easy said, to who if you do not have a list? When you build a downline - consiting of a couple of people - who gains the most with your contacts? Your list also belongs to the organisation you belong to. Are you realy building your customer base.

Hi Alok,
You’ve got some tough choices to make when I see all these comments.
There seems to be a great need for “beginner manuals”. How to start building a list, how to setup an autoresponder, how to make the first dollars online.
Kinda logical because there’s loads of people starting an internet based marketing business every day. And what most of them have in common is that they don’t know where to start and that they want to make serious money fast.
So maybe it would be best to tell those opportunity seekers that there’s no such thing as getting rich overnight without doing lots of work. Everybody that tells you otherwise is a blatant liar.
That leaves the people that are willing to work hard and learn a lot. You can explain to them how to get their business on the road from the very first start.

Hi Alok,
I think you answered your own question at the beginning of this blog.
It is ‘How does one make enough time to do the things one must to make a good regular income from the Internet?’
BEGIN AT THE BEGINNING
1. Eliminate the time wasting - eg. e-mail, sorting & reading piles of junk, stop wasting money on useless offers etc etc. You know, I’m sure, what I’m getting at.
2. Determine the general focus and direction, make a plan and stick with it.
3. Determine the specifics required and learn how to do them ie find /make products, build web sites, get traffic, build lists, copywriting, Adsense & Adwords, hosting, and all the other skills required.
4. Take action, just do it.
MORE THAN ANYTHING, IDENTIFY THE GOOD GUYS AND THE BAD GUYS ON THE INTERNET. Who are the real prophets and who are the false prophets. The former will help you make profits and the latter will steal the contents of your wallet. Make a comprehensive list and only follow the good guys. Unsubscribe from the bad guys.
Hope this helps
Charles

Hi Alok
Very good blog idea here I received your information a couple of months ago and it helped me dramatically I have alos been researching this area for the last 3 - 4 years.
This has helped me establish quite a successful business in which I use viral marketing and downlines which seem daunting to start with are very powerful.
PPC is the the easiest way to get up and running and listing with search engines although the bots and spiders used when looking at your websites will look for links to others to see how credible your listing is.
If you want to take a look at my website it is very simple http://www.thebookmarkit.com and it has on it a free link to a website which you can use for 30 days this allows you to see how easy it is to build a website which has links to other third parties and therefore gives you more Google points etc.
With all of this you get inumerable documentation which you can use to assist you in this process you will also get direction on PPC and free marketing.
I started getting 2 -3 hits per day and was not making much money out of this, now it is getting well over 5000 hits per day and with a 10% return it does OK.
Just to point out it is very difficult to achieve for free you do need some addiitonal software such as auto responders and click managers.
I wish everyone the best of success and any questions please e-mail me or reply to this blog, I am more than willing to help.
Thanks
Andrew

Hello Alok,
Well, where do we begin?! Viral marketing is my current passion. You would need to split your articles into shorter sections e.g. ’starting out’ etc. For example, for the beginner with little cash to spare, an article exploring the free advertising available using traffic exchanges, safelists, classifieds and so on would be inspiring. I know they work from experience. Some examples are Free Ad Depot, (Classified, links etc), Traffic Swarm (Classified ads etc), Problaze - keep your eye on this one, looks promising, gets you safelist advertising, as well as the well loved surfing sites e.g. Top Surfer, Max Traffic Pro, I love Hits and this one, Traffic Tornado, will give you your own spash page too.
There’s so much more you could cover and i’m sure you’ll find everyone’s comments useful.
Best of luck with this. Shall we say ‘watch this space’?
Kind regards,
Mimi Smith
P.S. My site is down at the moment so apologies to anyone trying to access it.

ALOK, Looking at the responses so far and knowing how many people are reading but not responding a couple of things. You have a large list and few of us feel that competent to advise you.
I would see most are trying to make money online…so what I need is a simple starting point. How about some of the resell rights, and showing us how to put the “show on the road”. Putting together the material we purchase and then failing to act because we don’t have the expertise to “rebrand” and sell ourselves.
More than anything else I will be reading your material for all the lessons you relay.

Hi! Alok!
i sincerely welcome your effort in putting up a blog internetmarketing-my way to share your vast knowledge and experience with all, it will be useful to newbies like me as we look upon the tools to work out for making real money which we see only in theories and various hypothesis -dreams like ! You can start first of all in removing the illusions from the minds of newbies. You can plan as per the financial viability of a newbie to teach him the ways from the scrap to start earning from small pieces of money so that he will have a belief in this industry- as truth should be the finest gurantee for his learning process as a newbie need not build a castle in the air. There is a real need to inculculcate the habit of learing to earn and there is a need to stress that nothing is possible without proper effort- we can not become rich overnight. How many years we study to get a professional ! like wise it is also a professional study cum earning process. You can start stressing all the basic elements to newbies.
i pray the Lord to shower his blessings to your effort and with your help i wish to see millions of people should be benefited -especially in affiliate marketing and the process of list building to succeed in their chosen field

How about to take a fresh look at new ways to make money on the Internet.
After all, we all want to make money without spending a life-time on learning tricks and writing articles. How about to include in your options ways to make money with MLM’s, online shops, affiliate marketing that doesn’t require spending days and nights scouring Forums, or spending a fortune on PPC marketing.
Is there something a lot simpler than all that?

And I hear how people are making money on the internet and I just don’t understand HOW. If there is someone out there that could help me. I haven’t found them yet. I use to think how nice it would be to make $1000 or more working on the internet, now I have come to the conclusion that it’s kind of like nascar only the lucky can win.
I am a graphic designer for a catalog, and because I live in such a rual area I only make $7.30 in hour. but just because I live in a rual area does’nt mean cost of living is cheeper, IT’S NOT. I know if I moved I could make more money, but I do love the area I live in. I would just like to make a good living where I am at and if I ever desided to move I could make a good living there too. Without the worries of having to take any job that comes my way. I am 45 years old and the idea of retirement in my life is DEATH. I will have to work it I die just to be able to live. That just no a live.
I would love to get any help I could get to get my life better
Thanks
K. H.

Hi again Alok,
This is more specific than my first post and only a small - but important part of the whole range of skills required.
I would like to learn more about RESOURCE / SIGNATURE BOXES.
I think each box must be relevant to the piece of work (article / e-mail / web site etc ) after which they are positioned.
Beyond that, I would want to know how many links to include, what those links should be, and all the other information to include for best results.
Keeping an Excel Spreadsheet record of all the Boxes and where they are kept and can be copied from seems like a good idea to me.
Thanks
Charles

Alik,
I think your blog idea is a wonderful idea. Marketers need to understand that the same techniques work, whether you’re promoting affiliate programs, or your own products and services. It’s simply about targeting the right market, as well as tailoring your marketing plan to fit your business.
BTW, love the Viral Profit Machine script. Stroke of genius! Will you be adding it to this blog?
I’m creating a blog roll of VPM sites, as well as Squidoo lens that lists VPM sites. Viral marketing for viral marketing! LOL.
Love your stuff,
Jinger Jarrett

Hello Alok,
My compliments to you for your energy and desire to help all of ‘us’ in the quest for financial independence. As for me, I wonder most about the best ways to truly start from scratch. You know, next-to-nothing initial costs and at least marginally understandable directions to follow? I’ve got no problem putting in the necessary hours on the learning curve; provided that it’s a reasonable amount. Also I’m prepared to leverage initial earnings for larger profits down the road. But please point me to something that’s not too intricate, not very expensive, and won’t take more than a few months to really see some profits? (Note please…that’s ‘profits’, not gross earnings. This seems to be a little piece of info many leave out.
Thanks again and I’ll keep you posted on how I make out,
Gary

Hi Alok
Great blog and information as always.
It occurs to me that there are many of your readers who would like to get into the ‘blog’ thing (as we all know how effective it can be).
With this in mind I wondered if this site might be of use to someone:
http://www.bloghostingpro.com
They do everything for you, create your blog, host it,configure your adsense and other affiliate ads for you, and what’s more….they even supply good content and articles and that’s not all……They Market and promote it as well!
To be quite honest…whether Newbie or experienced you can’t go wrong.
Anyway, once again, thanks for a great blog Alok, keep up the good work.

Hi Alok
As a Newbe I Think a good place to start would be for us beginners.
how to reconize scams on IM I have been Taken a few time on these money
making scams saying make money in 30 days, sleep while you earn ETC,
only to find out that i received some downloadable PDF Files that is more
talk than action? Also the adwords PPC thing Where the people Steal your
Commisions? And You Can’t Prove It! I enjoy your newsletters and I agree
with some of the others that a Blueprint Format of how you got started would be Great! Also I am interested in learning anything that you can dish
our Way!
Thanks and keep up the good work!

It seems to me that people with newsletters and contact lists is the first place to start.
And then a place to find the resources first of all the differrent things being offered, so as your newsletter is read your list will click on the links therefore you get credit.
How to find free things for us “already on a tight budget, thats why we are looking for extra income” instead of spending money we don’t have. Wouldn’t need the extra money if we could afford to buy all these great 25 dollar + offers to get started.
Thanks hope this works for yopu and all the rest of us also.
Best wishes and the best for you.

Hi Alok, Have read your blog and responses. My poblem is I would like to go into Internet Publishing but like others need help on gathering information much of which seems conflicting. Another problem I run on Mac and find most software for the business end is for PC only. I agree that one should start at the very begining, and keep it simple. Know the rules before you break them.
Best Wishes and Good Luck

Hi Alok
Mine is the 219th comment ….Hope you will read it.
One thing that bugs me is how to get traffic. Though i am already aware of how important the keyword search is and also how to use them to generate traffic.
I just wanted to know will that be enough or something else must also be done to generate traffic. Please let us know of the softwares (Free) that track the performance of the web page.
Second thing is , where to advertise (Free). Bolgs and Forum are the best way to advertise every one says . I dont know. Please let me know if u have some other different ways of advertising.
Google adward is best, but since i am beginner my worry is, it only works out costlier for me.
So i would appreciate if you can share your knowledge about the above mentioned areas.
